Drink Recipes - Jägerbomb

A cocktail combining one shot of Jägermeister dropped into a glass of an energy drink, usually Red Bull. It is commonly held that if any other brand of energy drink is used, the resulting beverage is not truly a Jägerbomb. It is referred to as a "Jäger-Bull" in German-speaking countries, as well as in English Bar chain Wetherspoon's.

Jagerbombs are often served in British and Australian pubs/clubs by balancing the shots of Jägermeister on the lips of the glasses, and then knocking them over to create what looks like a domino effect. This type of practice is common in the preparation of many cocktails where some degree of 'theatre' is used to create a spectacle.

The effects of jägerbombs are held to be different to that of other alcoholic beverages. The reason is attributed to the counter-balancing effect of the caffeine of the energy drink with the depressant effect that alcohol has on the body's central nervous system. Entering a state of intoxication where a jägerbomb or jägerbombs have been consumed, people often claim to act more recklessly than they would otherwise.

Served: Neat"; undiluted and without ice (see also straight up)
Standard drinkware: A pub glass and a shot glass.
Commonly used ingredients:

One can or one half can of Red Bull
One shot (1 part) of Jägermeister.
